Wow what a thought provoking book! I am in the 8th chapter and can’t wait to get back to it. Yes I do relate to everything in the book so far BIG TIME!
Thank you so much for handing this book to me. It has brought up some tremendous issues that I feel strongly about and see it the same way you do for the most part. It’s awesome to meet a guy and read his book and realize that I am not the only one that thinks, as Tommy Gilbert (MD RANGERS) always says to me how most people just don’t “GET IT”. Even those that think they do!
Baseball is a wonderful game. Yet parents/coaches seem to always find a way to mess it up. It seems it is always about winning but my question that I have always brought up during my coaching clinics that I ran back in the day in the Baltimore Metro area Rec councils was “What is winning?” That is the best question I have ever asked to spark debate and to provoke deep thought to the young new coaches that always seemed to fill the rooms back then. Very few ever got the answer though.
What is the purpose of it all? Your book clearly has lit a flame in my coaching that may have been dimming over the years. I’m on fire baby! Thanks to the book we had a fantastic practice last night and life lessons were clearly visible too!
